GAYA CERAMIC ARTS CENTER - Resident Artists

Join GAYA CAC as we begin the creation of an artistic oasis, attracting ceramicists from all over the globe for periods of focused, intense growth and creativity. For two-month stints, we invite carefully-selected artists to bring and exchange creative energy, inspiration, ideas, contacts, concepts, techniques, and general enthusiasm for clay with our burgeoning community of artists, designers, students and patrons.
Cadidates : open to all artists working in clay, interested in focus and exchange, exploration and exposure.
duration : for up to 60 days

EXCHANGE :
For Resident :

- 2 month (shared) studio space
- clay, glazes, equipment, resources ( FIRING FREE separate )
- culminating display of art work.

From Resident :

- enthusiasm and high standard of creativity
- four IN-HOUSE DEMONTRATIONS (casual two-three hour demos for
  production studio staff. Usually schedulled saturday afternoons)
- one piece of finished work for Gaya to retain for their collection.

Application :

- ten digital images of his/her work,

- project plan for a two-month window of focused studio concentration,   culminating in an exhibition of work (max. 500 words).

- additional materials such as CV, artist statement, biodata, etc.

- reference contact information (email addresses and phone numbers   from two individuals who know you / your work)

- availability preference during the upcoming calendar year

- Please also describe the type(s) of kilns, clays, glazes and/or   equipment that you might find necessary for your residency.


NOT INCLUDED : actual housing, food, living expenses / needs, transportation to / from Bali, local transportation (although there will be support in procurring/arranging all of these details)
